People Daily reports that the intermediate Web Site of the Beijing Organizing Committee will be launched on July 13, the second anniversary of the 2008 host city announcement.
The Web site will provide information and network services. The public will be able to search for information, read news of Olympic Games in several languages, and the Web site will act as a link between the Beijing Organizing Committee and the public.
According to People Daily the construction of the new Web site is an important part of the preparatory work of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. It is being set up in line with the host city contract, general plan for preparation work of the Olympic Games, and the requirements of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Following the 2008 Games the Web site in April 2008 the Web site will become a sports Web site, in accordance with the requirements of the IOC.
