Sochi 2014 ERP Project To Make Games More Efficient

According to a media release, Sochi 2014 today entered the next phase of its implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in collaboration with expert consultants, which will fully integrate its core business processes and help to guarantee an efficient Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The project was launched at the annual international Computer Club (MKF2008) conference in Sochi.

ERP is expected to help Sochi 2014 with reduced costs, increased transaction visibility, and effective planning for future service and infrastructure requirements, said the media release. “ERP is also intended to help Sochi 2014 achieve continuing business process innovation as it builds toward hosting an innovative and inspiring Winter Games in 2014”, said the media release.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, President and CEO of Sochi 2014 said, “The adoption of this fundamental process will help us to ensure the economic, social and sporting legacy of Sochi 2014 through efficiency and cost-effectiveness. With Sochi’s physical infrastructure developing rapidly in preparation for 2014, this process demonstrates similar progress for our IT and technical infrastructure”.

The ERP system is to be fully operational by the spring of 2009.
