The Canadian Press reports private security during the Vancouver 2010 Summer Olympic Games will cost almost $100 million.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Olympic security team has announced that a consortium of one American and two Canadian firms will provide security during the Games. Contemporary International, a U.S firm that worked at the Beijing Olympic Games, is already working with Vancouver 2010.
The other two companies are reportedly Alberta-based United Protection Security Group and Ontario-based Aeroguard.
About 4,000 private guards will be used during the Games to provide screening services at venues.
