London 2012 Could Get Boost From Children

London’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games could get a boost from hosting the International Children’s Games in July 2005.

It’s around the time the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will be selecting the 2012 host city and London’s city council cabinet was told it was “likely” that representatives of the IOC would visit the Children’s games being held in Coventry while assessing London’s bid.

About 1,500 children ages between 12 and 15 are expected to take part from 50 cities around the world.
