North and South Korea met Wednesday to discuss forming a joint Korea team for the Beijing 2008 Summer Games and the 2006 Doha Asian Games.
In a press release following the meeting, the Korean Olympic Committee said, “South and North Korea shared the understanding that they are participating as a unified team. We’ve decided not to release the detailed contents of the negotiations”.
The BBC reports that a South Korean Olympic official said, “the South and North shared the view on taking part as a single team and discussed a range of issues. They agreed to continue discussions at a future date”.
