According to the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) honorary secretary Datuk Sieh Kok Chi, an official bid document to host the 2010 Asian Games has been prepared and will be submitted to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on March 30.
Chi said, “the bid is on…whether we win or not because we feel every bid should be decided by fair play and by principles”. He said OCA members should give the Games to a small country like Malaysia who have the expertise, experience and facilities to host the Games.
Last week the OCM was undecided about bidding saying it could not afford to pay OCA $15 million (U.S.) for marketing purposes.
Other cities that plan to bid for the 2010 Asian Games include Guangzhou China, Seoul South Korea and Amman Jordan.
