IOC Trusts Turin 2006

Following two days of discussions with representatives of Turin’s 2006 Olympic bid, Jean Claude Killy, head of the IOC’s Coordination Commission, told Turin officials, “we trust you completely because you have never told us things that weren’t true. What you have done so far is noteworthy, just as what you still have before you”.

Gilbert Felli, executive director of the Commission said, “there are no delays in the construction, and having the sports managers on the staff and all the competition venues already selected is a strong base from which you can move ahead with confidence”.

Felli also underlined the good relationship between the TOROC and the international winter sports federations.

The IOC asked for special attention to be given to Turn’s marketing plan.

Turin’s next IOC Coordination Commission visit will take place in December.
