Tromso Norway’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games is taking shape. On July 19 a new board of directors was elected. The new Chairman of the board is Petter Jansen, the former head of the airline company SAS/Braathens in Norway, now CEO for one of Norway’s leading companies within property and property development – Norwegian Property.
Other members of the board include people from sports, business and politics both regionally and nationally.
A resource group has also been established. Among its members is the former Norwegian Minister of Culture and Church Affairs.
Tromso Mayor Herman Kristoffersen said, “as the Mayor of Tromso I’m extremely proud to present the public with such a highly competent and high profiled board for the Tromso 2018 project. I’m convinced that they will do a fantastic job with our bid for the status of national candidate”.
