IPC Meets With Vancouver 2010

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is in Vancouver for a three-day workshop with Vancouver 2010.

During the first day, which was attended by almost all of VANOC’s staff, there was an overview of the Paralympic Movement and Games as well as lessons learned from previous Summer and Winter Games. Games operations including sport, venues, accessibility, operations, communications and marketing were discussed with the relevant VANOC departments on the second day of the workshop. On Friday, the third day, there will be a venue tour of Vancouver and Whistler.

VANOC CEO John Furlong said, “we are committed to staging seamless Paralympic Games and see it as an advantage and opportunity to be allowed to stage the Games. We will look at what has been done by others and we will raise the bar”.
