Switzerland’s Olympic committee said it will form a strategy to present a bid for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
According to AP, the Swiss Olympic committee said Friday that a report it commissioned concludes that Switzerland could proceed with a bid.
Switzerland has not hosted an Olympic Games since 1948 in St. Moritz, which also hosted in 1928.
Swiss Olympic committee president Joerg Schild said a bid would only succeed if the entire country is behind it.
AP reports Geneva is a likely contender to host.
Sion was defeated by Turin in the competition for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
