PyeongChang 2018 wrapped up its final rehearsals Sunday in preparation for the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Evaluation Commission that is due to arrive in South Korea at 12:40 p.m. local time Monday.
The IOC commission will be in PyeongChang all week assessing the city’s bid to host the 2018 Winter Games, should it be selected as the host city July 6 in Durban, South Africa.
Cho Yang-ho, head of PyeongChang 2018 said, “we have made thorough preparations to the detail so that the evaluation team can get deep impressions from its entry (into South Korea) through its departure”.
The rehearsals covered presentations on 17 topics, including PyeongChang’s Winter Olympics’ vision and facilities.
The IOC delegation is scheduled to hold a news conference Friday, and depart from the city on Saturday.
The next stop on its tour is Munich, where it will inspect its bid March 1 to 4.
