PyeongChang 2018 has appointed two new vice-chairman to its executive management committee that will try to help its bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games by strengthening the committee.
Jung Byung-chul, vice-chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries, and diplomat Cho Kyu-hyung, South Korea’s former Ambassador to Brazil and Mexico, have joined the bid.
Jung is also former chief executive of LG Electronics, the second largest manufacturer of television sets in the world and has more than 40 years business experience.
Both men will work alongside Cho Yang-ho, chairman and chief executive of PyeongChang 2018, ahead of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) session in Durban July 6, 2011.
South Korea’s former Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, Yang Chun Park, was appointed last month as secretary general for international relations.
