More Accommodation For PyeongChang 2018

To bolster its bid for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, a new five-star hotel has been opened in Gangwon Province at the Alpensia Resort.

The new hotel has 238 rooms which, according to a press release, provides the “cutting edge and top level facilities such as high-quality interior decoration, iPod docking station, DVD player and high speed Internet access”.

Kim Jin-sun, Gangwon Province Governor and co-chairman of PyeongChang 2018 said, “we have kept our words as a commitment made by PyeongChang and developed world-level winter sports infrastructure. Alpensia, including Inter-continental hotel, is a key facility for 2018 Winter Olympics. I hope that the environmentally-friendly Games of peace and harmony will be staged over here in 2018”.

The Alpensia resort was opened in November with seven ski slopes and three lifts. It can accommodate 3,000 people.
