The Bureau of the German Association of Cities announced Wednesday that it is supporting Munich’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
Richard Adam, managing director of Munich 2018 said, “we are pleased that the cities of Germany are fully behind the bid to host the Winter Games in 2018. They emphasize that the application is a national concern”.
The cities said they would promote Munich’s bid during sport events, cultural activities, major events, festivals, and cultural, scientific and economic networks.
Adam said their support is very valuable for the bid. He added, “at the same time the Olympic application provides an opportunity to show internationally once again that German cities are very well placed to organize major international events….and to create an exciting atmosphere”.
