The German Handball Bundesliga (HBL) is launching a partnership with Munich 2018 Tuesday to coincide with the start of its new season.
According to Munich 2018 the HBL is one of the world’s strongest handball leagues with eight million fans in Germany, and the federation plans to show its support for Munich’s Winter bid through a variety of promotional and educational campaigns across Germany.
Willy Bogner, CEO of Munich 2018 said, “we are delighted by this partnership. Handball in Germany is an excellent sport played by exceptional athletes with well-informed and passionate fans. These are characteristics of Germany as a sports nation and are important pillars of our Olympic bid. The Munich 2018 bid committee is pleased to welcome the HBL as a strong partner to promote and further strengthen Munich’s bid”.
