Reuter’s reports Munich’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games won’t be derailed by CEO Willy Bogner’s illness, said the head of Munich’s supervisory board Tuesday.
Bogner is reportedly suffering from an unspecified intestinal illness that could require surgery.
Michael Vesper, head of Munich 2018’s supervisory board, and the secretary general of the Germany Olympic Committee, told Reuters, “Willy Bogner will be at the full disposal of the Munich 2018 bid with all his force. He decided to talk about his illness himself but for us it was not a surprise. We have been aware of his health problem. We are confident he will lead a successful Munich bid for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Games”.
