Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree on hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The decree was posted on the website of the head of state.
The bid committee is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul.
Amendments to the state social program for the development of sports and tourism infrastructure in Ukraine in 2011-2022 will be introduced in two months. According to these amendments, infrastructure, sports, and tourist facilities would be built in accordance with international standards, and free access to such facilities should be ensured for people with disabilities.
Last September Ukraine approved a preliminary feasibility study on a 2022 bid.
