Switzerland’s Olympic Committee told five cities and regions at a meeting Monday what it wants from an expected Swiss bid for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
The Associated Press reports Swiss Olympic leaders told officials from Geneva, Davos-St. Moritz, Central Switzerland, Valais and Bern that a bid must have stable, transparent finance and sustainable infrastrcuture.
Rene Fasel and Gian Franco Kasper, two of Switzerland’s five IOC members, also addressed the meeting Monday.
The Swiss Olympic Committee said plans should be outlined by March 31, and a government-backed candidacy could then be presented to Swiss sports federations in November.
But the Swiss Olympic Committee says a bid likely requires PyeongChang to win the 2018 Winter Games, allowing Europe to host in 2022.
