China Daily reports officials from the State General Administration of Sports, the governing body of Chinese sport, will be evaluating the feasibility of Harbin’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games over the next few days.
An unnamed official from the Harbin Sports Bureau said, “representatives from the administration will arrive in Harbin in a couple of days and evaluate the feasibility of the bid with local officials”.
According to China View the official also said that the city of Changchun, in the neighbouring Jilin province, also showed interest in the bid. A decision must be made to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) by October 15.
