According to the ThinkSpain website, the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government), announced it is officially backing Madrid’s bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
Jose Montilla, president of the Generalitat, issued a statement confirming that the decision to support Madrid’s bid was made by the “whole regional government”.
The Generalitat will support Madrid’s public services, including transport, police coordination, civil safety and health.
