Mexico 2024 Olympic Bid Off The Table

A political sports commission looking at a bid from Mexico for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, decided that there were no economic or infrastructure conditions in Mexico for a bid to take place.

Rep. Felipe Munoz Kapamas, the President of the Sports Commission in the Chamber of Deputies, said that making a bid for the Olympics is not any occurrence; it is a very difficult situation where many costs are included.

The former Mexican athlete said in an interview that, at a meeting of the commission, the proposal by Deputy Adriana Gonzalez for Mexico to host the 2024 Summer Games was rejected.

Bidding for the 2024 Games begins in 2015 and the host city will be selected in 2017.
