Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Friday that Istanbul is getting ready to bid for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, reports the semi-official Anatolia news agency.
Gul told the 37th general assembly meeting of the European Olympic Committees that are meeting in Turkey, “we will mobilize all our capabilities to host the Olympic Games. The Games is one of the oldest and most important driving forces of friendly and peaceful relations among countries and their nations”.
