Chicago 2016 To Celebrate Candidate City Status With “Chicago Believes”

Chicagoans are invited to a celebration event Monday in Millennium Park to honour Chicago’s selection as a Candidate City in its bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the upcoming Beijing Games and the U.S. Olympic team.

There will be free entertainment and athletic demonstrations. Seven thousand seats are open to the public on the Great Lawn.

Activities include demonstrations from Olympians, Paralympians and Olympic hopefuls in various events. A fundraiser dinner for ticketed guests at 6:30 p.m. will feature an international menu with offerings from some of the world’s top chefs. Dinner tickets are available starting at $500.00. Limited seats are available for the performance only at $100.

At 8:00 p.m. a variety show at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion will take place to celebrate great Chicago Olympic moments at which members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will perform as well as other local talent.
