Chicago 2016 To Attend SportAccord

Sunday a delegation from Chicago 2016 will travel to Denver to present Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games at the annual SportAccord conference.

Chicago’s delegation will include Chicago 2016 Honorary Chairman and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, Chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016 Patrick G. Ryan, United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Chairman Larry Probst, Acting CEO Stephanie Streeter, and Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

Ryan said in a press release, “SportAccord is a great opportunity because it brings together all of the leaders of the international sport federations in one place. We appreciate what a great opportunity it is for us to interact with them and to learn about the issues affecting sport. We hope to explain how we have taken their feedback and incorporated it into our plans for the Games”.

Chicago 2016 will be making their official presentation to the conference on March 26. The three other cities bidding for the 2016 Summer Games are also sending delegations to SportAccord to present their bids.
