Chicago 2016 Bid Anthem Premiered At Fund Raiser

The song “I Will Stand” was premiered during Chicago 2016’s recent “Chicago Believes” fund-raising event that raised more than $12 million for the 2016 bid. According to a Chicago 2016 media release the song, especially written for the event, expresses “the athlete’s joyful journey through struggle to victory”.

Patrick G. Ryan, chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016, said, “musicians from Chicago and around the country have penned an original song in honour of Chicago’s Olympic and Paralympic Games bid. This unique endeavour from our cultural community further demonstrates the incredible passion and enthusiasm among residents of our city and country to bring the Games back to the United States in 2016”.
