A senior delegation from Istanbul 2020 arrived in Moscow Wednesday for the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) General Assembly.
Professor Ugur Erdener, President of the NOC of Turkey and an IOC member, is leading the delegation alongside NOC Vice President Hasan Arat.
Professor Erdener said, “we want the NOCs to know that they are fundamental to our Master Plan. A successful Games concept starts and ends with the needs of athletes at its heart. We are seeking and reacting to feedback from NOCs around the world and we have also built on the lessons of our recent Olympic bids.
“This is a new bid from a new Turkey and our plan delivers transport, accommodation, training and competition solutions that ensure maximum athlete comfort and performance. There is also an exotic side to our plans as this will be the first ever Games where athletes can compete on two continents in one city. This symbolizes how Istanbul 2020 will work with the Olympic Movement to build bridges and reach out further than ever before”.
The team from Istanbul 2020 will make its presentation Saturday.
