Madrid 2020 has now added the five Olympic rings to its logo. Only official Candidate Cities have the right to use the five rings, which represent the five continents.
Madrid 2020 President Alejandro Blanco said after receiving the IOC’s approval to add the rings to the logo, “it’s another step forward in our journey. We are now a Candidate City and the IOC has also given a very positive assessment of our project.
“We now have to work hard to deliver a comprehensive dossier that shows everyone the strength of our bid and will help bring us the Games which will provide a major boost for Spain”.
Madrid 2020 has also made changes to its website to make it more socially inclusive and interactive for the public.
Now comments made by the bid’s supporters on social networking sites will appear instantly on the Madrid 2020 website which the bid committee says has been active on these networks since its inception and has received widespread support for the bid itself and the other activities it engages in. The web’s users can also share all bid-related news with their followers.
Companies looking to support the project, by providing sponsorship or taking part in invitations to tender designed to create opportunities for Spanish businesses and youngsters, will also have their own dedicated areas on the website.
