Alejandro Blanco, President of Madrid 2020, after landing in Buenos Aires to prepare for the last stage of the Madrid 2020 Olympic bid said, “I feel optimism and a great sense of responsibility and pride for the work done so far.
“Work, work and more work – that’s our formula for the coming days. We are very confident that we have a great project, created by a great team. The messages in our presentations have been very well received, and we hope that this last presentation will be the best”.
He added, “Madrid 2020 is a responsible bid, perfectly suited for the times in which we are living. In the last 10 years we have worked hard to adapt our city for the Olympic and Paralympics Games.
“As a result our budget is one of the smallest in recent history because 80 per cent of the venues are already built and ready for use. We want to offer the IOC a city that is ready, instead of promising to be. Madrid 2020 makes sense”.
