Vancouver, Pyeongchang Pay Their 2010 Dues

Vancouver and Pyeongchang, two of three cities bidding for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, have sent the International Olympic Committee their $500,000 bid fees for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Lizette Parsons, Vancouver 2010’s director of communications said, “we paid ours last Thursday. The deadline for the fee is October 31”.

A spokesman for Pyeongchang said that city has also paid its fee.

The IOC uses the money to conduct onsite surveys and other activities needed to decide a successful bidder, said Jun Sang-duk, an official at the 2010 Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games Bid Committee.

The third city bidding for the 2010 Games is Salzburg.
