The Vancouver-Whistler 2010 Bid Corporation has been working hard during the summer towards the next phase of its bid for the 2010 Winter Games.
Don Calder, CEO of the Vancouver-Whistler Bid, said, “we’re preparing to move our bid onto the national stage and into the international arena this fall. Our immediate tasks include completing our fundraising and working closely with all of our supporters and our host communities to ensure we have a successful outcome when the IOC votes on the site of the 2010 Games in 2003”.
Calder says the Bid Corporation’s 30 work groups continue to develop the details of how the Winter Games and Paralympic Games would be staged in the Vancouver-Whistler region.
“We face many opportunities and challenges ahead, but it will be an exciting journey”, adds Calder.
