Vancouver 2010 bid spokesperson Sam Corea told GamesBids.com that Vancouver will not follow Berne 2010’s lead and will not post its applicant questionnaire response on the Vancouver 2010 Web site.
This week Berne 2010’s questionnaire response was posted on its Web site.
The IOC has set January 10, 2003 as the date that international public relations will be acceptable.
Corea said Vancouver 2010 “views the bid questionnaire as our preliminary ‘play book’ or ‘game plan’ for hosting the 2010 Games. We are in an international competition with the other applicant cities”.
He added that much of what is in Vancouver’s responses to the bid questionnaire is available at various presentation, information sessions and open houses including the proposed Games venues, the current infrastructure and possible new venues, and the economic benefits and legacies associated with hosting the 2010 Games in Canada.
Corea said that over the last two years Vancouver bid officials have participated in about 500 meetings and presentations reaching about 18,000 people, and more than 6,000 people have visited the public information office in Whistler.
