Vancouver 2010 set a single day record Tuesday with more than 1.3 million page views on its official website and more than 10,500 volunteer applications for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
The 1.3 million page views more than tripled the previous all-time high of 480,310 page views set during the launch of the Vancouver 2010 mascots last November.
Donna Wilson, executive vice president of Workforce and Sustainability for Vancouver 2010 said, “the strong response to the call for volunteers demonstrates the pride the residents of BC (British Columbia) and Canada feel for the 2010 Winter Games and how enthusiasts worldwide have had this date circled in their calendar for a long time. It was a great first day and a wonderful way to celebrate the two-year countdown to the Games with people everywhere”.
