Vancouver 2010 Sells Out Tickets In Priority Access Period

Five hours after they were re-released, the remaining available tickets for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games in the Priority Access Period had been sold said Vancouver 2010. The tickets for sale Friday were only available to Canadians who requested tickets in phase one of sales, which ended November 7.

The next phase of ticket sales will start in mid-2009. Vancouver 2010 will begin selling tickets for the Paralympic Games on May 6, 2009.

Earlier this week VANOC invited ticket account holders to sign into their ticket accounts at the official Vancouver website to find out what tickets they had received from their earlier requests this fall. The same ticket buyers had the exclusive right to buy remaining tickets on a first-come, first-served basis which began Friday at 9 a.m. local time.

Meanwhile the organizing committee is continuing to work with tickets.com. on an authorized ticket resale program where people will be able to offer their tickets for sale, and will be able to buy with confidence knowing the tickets are legitimate. More details will be announced later next year.

Caley Denton, VANOC vice president ticketing and consumer marketing said Friday, “once again we have been amazed by the interest and support shown by Canadians in tickets to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Our website was overwhelmed today and we want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm and patients. We encourage anyone who wants tickets in the future to sign up for updates at www.vancouver 2010.com.”.
