Vancouver 2010 now has three new licensees creating products capturing the memories of the 2010 Games, and is auctioning off an “amazing” collection of competition memorabilia.
EMI Music Canada is creating official commemorative music CDs from the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and a CD, which according to Vancouver 2010, captures Canada’s favourite hockey anthems.
Gameday Auctions will facilitate the auction of 10,000 pieces of one-of-a-kind Games history; and Transcontinental is producing the official Vancouver 2010 photo products website.
Dennis Kim, director of licensing and merchandising for VANOC said, “we’re pleased to join forces with three industry leaders who are helping to keep the memories of the Games alive long after they’re over through music, photos and the auctioning of Games collectibles. Their expertise will help add to the overall experience of fans of Canada’s Games throughout the country and the world”.

On March 1, following the Olympic Closing Ceremony, EMI Music Canada will issue the Sounds of Vancouver 2010: Closing Ceremony Commemorative Album. The company also released Canada’s Hockey Anthems: Sounds of the Olympic Winter Games.
Vancouver 2010 has partnered with Gameday Auction to offer the public a chance to bid on more than 10,000 pieces of highly coveted and one-of-a-kind pieces of Games history on line at www.vancouver2010.com/auctions.
According to Vancouver 2010 the auction is already underway but the public sale of the majority of items used at the Games starts February 28, and all items will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity and an official 2010 Winter Games hologram.
The sale of Vancouver 2010 official licensed products will contribute directly to Games revenue which supports the financing and staging of the 2010 Winter Games.
Four hundred Hudson’s Bay Company stores and more than 2,500 retail stores across Canada carry officially licensed Vancouver 2010 merchandise.
