Vancouver 2010 Logo Unveiled April 23

The unveiling of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games logo will take place on a nationally televised live broadcast Saturday April 23 at 7 p.m. Pacific Time, 10 p.m. Eastern Time.

The broadcast, for which free tickets become available to the public Thursday, marks Canada’s first major 2010 Winter Games event since Vancouver was named the host city for the 2010 Games on July 2, 2003.

The program titled “Imagine 2010 – Canada’s Olympic journey begins”, will air coast to coast across Canada on the CTV network and will feature hundreds of local performers and special guests.

Tickets limited to four per person are available through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.ca) as of 10 a.m. Pacific Time Thursday.

VANOC received more than 1,600 submissions from every region in Canada before the competition ended September 15, 2004. The winner was selected by an international judging panel, and will receive $25,000 and two tickets to the 2010 Winter Games Opening Ceremony.

The Vancouver 2010 Winter Games take place in Vancouver and Whistler from February 12 to 28, 2010. Whistler will host the Paralympic Winter Games from March 12 to 21, 2010.
