Air Canada, a sponsor of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, unveiled its Olympic-themed airplane, a behemoth of a Boeing 777 painted in bright Olympic Games colours and images.
CTV reports Air Canada’s Chief Executive Officer Calin Rovinescu called the Olympic plane an unparalleled advertising opportunity in a tough economic climate.
The airline’s sponsorship of the Olympics includes services, including a new program that gives athletes the same perks as first-class customers.
The plane will be used for long-haul trips, potentially on routes between Europe and Vancouver, which would be added specifically for the Games reports CTV.
