Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo have officially applied to become Brazil’s candidate for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
Representatives of the two bid cities have been invited to a seminar to instruct them on how to organize a bid book which is to be submitted to Brazil’s Olympic committee by April 15, 2003. An evaluation commission will then analyze the two cities’ bids and submit a report to the committee.
Brazil will select its candidate in an election on July 7, 2003. Applications are to be submitted to the IOC by July 15, 2003.
