Turin 2006 has launched a volunteer program for the 2006 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games called Noi2006.
The organization is looking for potential partners from the world of sport and volunteer’s “allies” to promote the Olympic values, encourage people to become involved, and enhance the value of the work of the various associations.
Applications will be published on the Turin 2006 Web site starting in January 2004.
Valentino Castellani, President of TOROC, said, “we expect the Noi2006 program to involve something in the region of 20,000 people who are willing to place themselves at the service of the athletes, the public, their country and their city. The volunteers will be the true ‘hosts’ of these Games. They will welcome guests and be fundamental to the smooth running of sports venues and villages, ski slopes and stadiums. This is a great challenge and one in which TOROC aims to succeed with the support of the whole area”.
