The cost to restructure Turin’s airport for the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games will be more than 98 million euro
The passenger terminal is to be enlarged and the 4,000 square metre departure hall will be increased to 7,300 square metres.
The arrival terminal will also be enlarged by 43 per cent to two thousand square metres.
Mario Carrara, president of Sagat, says during the Olympic year in 2006 the airport will carry five million passengers – twice the amount it carries now.
There will also be infrastructure work done to the road network. A 120-unit parking lot for buses will be built and Satti railway station and arrival/departure terminal will enable more fluid movements of winter charter flights.
