Turin 2006 Coordination Commission Begins

The Turin 2006 2nd Coordination Commission, chaired by Olympian Jean-Claude Killy, began this morning in Turin Italy.

TOROC president Valentino Castellani said, “the works of this first day could not have gone better, thanks to our profitable collaboration with IOC. We announced that Councillor Tessora sent us a letter on 30 August, ensuring that the General Market area would be definitely available by the end of this year. This means that we will be conducting the Olympic Village feasibility studies and the subsequent designing, according to the planned time schedule”. The news was welcomed by the Coordination Committee.

Following the plenary session, IOC and TOROC representatives split into thematic work groups, the results of which will be presented by the respective directors during tomorrow’s plenary session.
