China’s President Jiang Zemin and other senior Chinese leaders showed their support for Beijing’s 2008 Olympic bid by planting trees at Olympic Park (Also known as Olympic Green} located in northern Beijing.
The Park, which occupies a land area of 1,215 hectares, is now under construction and will host the competitions of about 15 Olympic sports, should Beijing host the 2008 Olympic Summer Games.
About 2/3 of the park will be covered with woods and greenery.
