Transport Infrastructure Improvements Critical To Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Bid

Transport leaders in the west of Scotland outlined a one billion pound “shopping list” which will help to improve the rail, road and ferry infrastructure crucial to a Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bid.

Alistair Watson, chairman of the Strathclyde Passenger Transport which helped to draw up the strategy said, “we are issuing a challenge to the Scottish executive to allow the west of Scotland to deliver transport benefits which will allow us to move into a new era”.

Watson said that a key aim of the strategy was to reduce car usage.
