Toronto Author Launches Olympic Book

Helen Jefferson Lenskyj, a native of Australia and a Canadian resident since 1966, is launching her fourth book, Inside The Olympic Industry, next month.

Lenskyj spent time in Australia researching the book, which is a critical analysis of the politics, bids and preparations from the perspective of all those adversely affected by the social, economic, political and environmental impacts of hosting an Olympic Games.

Lenskyj is a professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education,University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Olympic watchdog coalition Bread Not Circuses.

She returned from Australia in June, where she spent more than four months researching her second Olympic book about Sydney and the Olympic Industry.

Inside The Olympic Industry will be launched between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on September 7 at Another Story Bookshop, 164 Danforth Avenue, Toronto.
