Toronto 2015 CEO Observes CAC Games

Toronto 2015 Pan American Games CEO Ian Troop is in Mayaquez, Puerto Rico where he attended the XXI Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games Opening Ceremonies Friday and the Games on Saturday.

Troop has been observing Games operations and met with organizers, National Olympic Committee members and Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) executives.

In a press release Troop said, “with planning for the Toronto 2015 Games in full gear, it’s important that we continue to learn as much as possible from our friends and partners who have experience in planning large multi-sport events. The more knowledge we gain from their challenges and successes, the strong our Games will be”.

Thirty-one PASO countries are participating in the CAC Games, which are the first large sporting event of the year and the oldest multi-sport event after the Olympics Games. A total of 4,965 athletes are participating in 39 sports being held across Puerto Rico, Colombia, Guatemala and Guyana.
