According to a Tokyo 2016 media release bid officials will also be in Monaco for Sportel to observe the worlds largest sports program market for television where many International Federations will be meeting and networking to promote their sports to the world’s leading television stations.

Ahead of travelling to Lausanne and Monaco the Tokyo 2016 bid team has meetings planned with London 2012 officials as well as background meetings with representatives of Europe’s media in London, Frankfurt and Paris.

Japanese Olympic Committee president Tsunekazu Takeda called the IOC Seminar and the busy European schedule “a very important time for Tokyo 2016. These meetings in Europe are an essential part of our listening and learning process. The information will be vital for the team of experts finalizing our very exciting and unique concept that is assured to add great value to the Olympic Movement. The concept will be outlined in our response to the IOC Questionnaire for 2016 Applicant Cities to be submitted in January 2008”.
