More than 250,000 people have registered to support London’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
London 2012 organizers say they want a million people to back the bid by text, online or in person before July 2005 when the host city decision is made.
About 10,000 people are said to have registered on “London 2012 day” which was held December 20.
Bid Chairman Sebastian Coe said “It’s been a superb year but the next six months are going to be crucial and every registered support counts. The more registered supporters the bid can show the easier it is to demonstrate to the International Olympic Committee the UK’s support and passion to host the Games in 2012”.
