Boris Becker, Germany’s three-time Wimbledon champion, has volunteered his services to Leipzig’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
Becker said he would be delighted to help Leipzig to fend off stiff competition from across the globe.
Leipzig’s competitors for the 2012 bid include Rio de Janeiro, Havana, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Moscow, New York and Paris.
“If the Leipzig federation of the organizing committee ask me for my support as a former top German sports star I am willing to help”, said Becker.
