Television Networks To Bid For Olympic Games

The New York Times reports that according to an industry executive, the five groups who want the television rights to the 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games will receive the contracts on which they will base their bids next month.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will be given their bids June 5 and 6, and the IOC is expected to analyze the offers for a few days before announcing a winner.

NBC has the TV rights through 2008. All the major broadcast networks and their cable affiliates are interested in acquiring the TV rights.
