Swatch Group Ltd., the world’s largest watchmaker, will provide sports timing systems and services of about $38.9 million (U.S.) for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
Georges Nicolas Hayek Jr., CEO of the company, said Wednesday, “we will ship 500 tons of equipment and 300 professional engineers from Switzerland to different competition venues in Beijing to measure and transmit results and scores”.
Swatch will have the only name and logo on thousands of time displays at the Games.
