Students, Citizens, Support PyeongChang 2014 Winter Bid

There are several locally organized events throughout South Korea to promote PyeongChang’s bid for the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

On November 22 130 students from PyeongChang Elementary School had a bicycle hiking day to raise public awareness of PyeongChang’s bid, and on the same day about 1,000 residents of Gangneung, the venue for skating and ice hockey should PyeongChang host the Games, held a meeting at city hall to announce their full support for the bid and committed to making it the most successful Games ever if PyeongChang hosts the 2014 Games.

Governor Kim Jin-Sun, Executive President of PyeongChang 2014 said, “we deeply appreciate the enormous voluntary contribution of the citizens and their great passion to host the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang. The bid committee will continue to work hard to fulfill the citizens’ ambitions”.
